Piano lessons are open to students aged four and up, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Piano lessons are offered in a one-on-one setting. Piano lessons consist of song study and performance, ear training and rudiments of music theory. Students learn to sight-read notes and rhythms, read in both clefs, and play dynamically. Students are trained in Alfred and/or RCM books, exposing them to classical, pop, early child and gospel-style songs. Lessons are always tailored to each student's abilities, needs, and learning styles, not to a specific curriculum.
Voice lessons are open to students aged four and up, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Voice lessons are offered in a one-on-one setting. Voice lessons consist of stretches, breathing exercises, vocal warm-ups, technique development, and song study and performance. Students develop their musical ear and learn about pitch matching, range, tone, placement, and healthy technique while exploring a variety of genres like jazz, musical theatre, pop, and classical. Voice lessons are very sensory-informed, adapting to each student's needs and learning styles.
Piano and voice lessons can be combined into joint lessons, where students spend time learning piano and singing in each lesson.
Early Childhood Music lessons are open to all students five and under. Students 2 and under require adult accompaniment in class.
Early childhood classes focus on music, movement and instrument exploration. Students are given the opportunity to play the piano, ukulele, xylophone, shakers, drums, and more in every class. Students learn musical foundations - such as beats, rhythm, dynamics, and nursery rhymes - in a stress-free, fun, and supportive environment.
These classes set students up to transition smoothly to more structured piano or voice lessons as they age. However, at their core, ECM classes are designed to help students build confidence to explore and develop their musicality while having a ton of fun!
